Jewelry Care

Daily Wear

Remove your silver jewelry before exercising, swimming, or showering.
Always apply perfumes, creams, and hair care products before wearing your pieces.
To clean tarnished sterling silver jewelry, polish gently with a silver cloth.

Storing

Always store your jewelry pieces individually, preferably in your 12Dalton soft-lined box or pouch so that they don’t rub together, scratch or tangle.
Your gold vermeil and silver jewelry should be kept in a dark, cool and dry place.
Storing jewelry in a sealed plastic bag or airtight box with the anti-oxidation strip paper provided with each order if you won’t be wearing it for a while.
The oxidation process is also slowed down by wearing your jewelry often, so wear your 12 Dalton jewelry every day!

Cleaning

Clean your jewelry carefully with a soft, non-abrasive and lint-free cloth; this helps maintain or bring back its shine.
If there is sweat and dirt on your jewelry, use a mild washing up liquid with warm water, then rinse with clean water and pat dry with a soft cloth.
The polishing cloths included in each order are made of 100% cotton and have been treated with an anti-tarnish agent. To get the best results, simply buff your 14k/18k gold plated silver, or sterling silver pieces until any tarnish or marks are no longer visible.
Never wash the polishing cloth, as it will lose its effectiveness.
Never use the polishing cloth on gems or pearls.

Sustainability

Sustainability is one of the core values of 12 Dalton.

I made the decision to sell for demand and not have my jewelry mass produced to avoid waste in energy and materials.

12 Dalton jewelries are either handmade piece by piece or 3-D printed, followed by casting in small batches and hand finished by me. I love that my hands are on each and every piece.

I choose 925 recycled sterling silver as the base metal for all pieces as it can easily be recycled without the need for any new mining and can be recycled into many different applications. I try my best to give dead stock another life whenever it's necessary.

My packaging is designed for full recyclability, no plastic waste will be generated upon unboxing. The jewelry box and soft suede pouch are for you to keep as jewelry storage.
